Adios, amigo

The date of today marks the end of the production in Spain of an emblematic car of the 70 and 80's, the Ford Fiesta. This car started his life here in the newly constructed Ford plant in Almussafes (Valencia)in 1976, and late last year reached the Fiesta n. 5.000.000, with the production stopped during the years 1996-2002. The Fiesta had six generations of the model, including a totally new designed Fiesta in 2002 that nothing had in common but the name with the 1976 car. These pictures that I took last year here in Pamplona shows one Fiesta with license plates from the first year of the production of the model, 1976. In that year, a the price of the Fiesta was about 177.200 pesetas (1.067 euros!)

Taxi!

Not only a common taxi, but the taxi of my brother Pedro. Is a Mercedes E220 CDI bought in 2006, with colour and markings of the taxis from Pamplona (Navarra). This robust Mercedes is the model W211 of the E-Class series, built from 2003 to 2009 in the plant of Sindelfingen (Germany).

Cop-wheels (V)

Huarte (Navarra), where I live actually, is a little town with a population nearby 3.600. So, the local police is a small force that only operates two vehicles. One of them I posted HERE, and the other is the versatile Peugeot Partner I Combi, a french van built from 1997 onwards. This police car is from the first serie of the Partner model, with license plates from 1997.

Tank

These pictures are 20 years old. In 1991my brother was a young conscript in the city of Ceuta in north Africa, as tank gunner in an armored cavalry regiment, the "Montesa n.3". Then in service there was the american M48A5E. The first M48s arrived to the spanisharmy in 1965, and were updated to "E" version in 1978-79. The M48 served in the "Montesa" regiment from 1978to mid 90s, when was replaced by M60A3s.
The conscript servicewas replaced fifthteen years ago by a professional army. This post is humble dedicated to all conscript soldiers who served before in our army, specially to my brother Pedro.

A long time without drive through here!
In this entry I want to show you my new job car, a Mercedes... hearse. Well, really I drive more models, but this was the first in my hands.

Cop-wheels (IV)

Nissan Terrano II 2.7TD, local police from Berriozar (Navarre), 2010. The spanish Terrano II was built in the Nissan factory of Barcelona from 1993 to 2006. The round front lights reveals that this vehicle in particular is one of the 2nd series of the Terrano II model, produced between 1996 and 1999. His license plates are from 1999.
