Cop-wheels (VI)

Two weeks ago I photoed in Pamplona this Volkswagen Polo TDI built in 2007 fron the local police. Although not a french police vehicle this is my humble tribute for Franck Brinsolaro, Ahmed Merabet and Clarissa Jean-Philippe, the police officers killed in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks in Paris last week. RIP to them and the rest of the victims.

An American Classic

Freightliner Classic XL series from late 90´s. The classic image of the powerful american trucks. Pictures taken in 2009 at the outskirts of Pamplona (Spain).

Iron mule

This is a manoeuver diesel locomotive 10101, called "Meme" or "Pegasin". It was powered by the same engine of the Pegaso Comet truck. Designed in 1955, only 46 units were built betweeen 1959 and 1963, and worked well since then to the 90's. I photoed this well painted "Pegasin" as decorative monument in the industrial area of Esquiroz, near Pamplona.

Wheeled box!

This ugly square thing is an old moving truck based on a Mercedes light truck.His license plates are from 1985 and I found it last mont in Pamplona.

Adios, amigo

The date of today marks the end of the production in Spain of an emblematic car of the 70 and 80's, the Ford Fiesta. This car started his life here in the newly constructed Ford plant in Almussafes (Valencia)in 1976, and late last year reached the Fiesta n. 5.000.000, with the production stopped during the years 1996-2002. The Fiesta had six generations of the model, including a totally new designed Fiesta in 2002 that nothing had in common but the name with the 1976 car. These pictures that I took last year here in Pamplona shows one Fiesta with license plates from the first year of the production of the model, 1976. In that year, a the price of the Fiesta was about 177.200 pesetas (1.067 euros!)

Taxi!

Not only a common taxi, but the taxi of my brother Pedro. Is a Mercedes E220 CDI bought in 2006, with colour and markings of the taxis from Pamplona (Navarra). This robust Mercedes is the model W211 of the E-Class series, built from 2003 to 2009 in the plant of Sindelfingen (Germany).

A year of life

Today this blog celebrates his first birthday. To celebrate it, I just post a serie of shots of a same Jeep model that I posted as the first photos in this blog. In this case, this blue Ebro was photoed some months ago in the outskirts of Pamplona, with license plates from 1973. The one-year-ago pictures of the other Ebro and information of this vehicles are here.

Cop-wheels

There are near 30 years between these two shots. They are Pamplona local police cars . The black and white picture is a Seat 124 station wagon version (more on Seat 124s here)in the early 80's. The color ones are a Peugeot Expert and a little Smart, both from 2008. Vehicle colors and uniforms have changed. In next posts I'll show you vehicles from policial units of my country, be alert...

Forever Young II

Some months ago I saw a tunned Seat 124 in my town, Huarte. Yesterday, I photoed another car of the same model in Pamplona, but now in his original configuration. This very well preserved vehicle is from 1977. Enjoy with it, very few cars of this model are in this neat condition today.

Home, wheeled home!!

Here are a pair of vehicles used as home-made caravans that I photoed in the last months here in Pamplona. Designed for other tasks, their final destiny is the same: to be a mobile home.

Little red thing

In the last months of 1960, a new vehicle emerged from the assembly lines of the Moto Vespa factory (Madrid). The Vespacar was a three-wheeled cart, inspired by the italian Piaggio Ape model. With a load capacity of 400 kg and a velocity of 60 km/h, the Vespacar, also known as "motocarro" (wagon-cycle)soon will be a very popular light transport here in Spain, and were a common image in the roads during the next 20 years.

Today, 50 years later, the famous desingn and T-shirt factory of Kukusumuxu operates a fully restored Vespacar here in Pamplona, and so I can show you some pictures of this little red beauty.

The end of the year
